Training  in Mat Pilates Coresprit®

 

Module 1 - Basic Matwork

Module 1 perfects module 0 - Fundamental to go further in the knowledge of the exercises and in the pedagogy. This module allows the candidate to complete their training as a Pilates teacher and emphasizes the details to enrich beginner classes without material.

The module will be divided into 2 workshops of 7 hours each   ( 14 hours in total).

Program
of Training Module 1

Module 1 perfects module 0 - Fundamental to go further in the knowledge of the exercises and in the pedagogy. This module allows the candidate to complete their training as a Pilates teacher and emphasizes the details to enrich beginner classes without material.

 

  • Prerequisites : it is advisable to have followed Module 0 – Mat Fondamental before committing to this module.

  • Module duration : Module 0 will consist of 2 workshops of 7 hours each (14 hours in total).

  • Minimum/maximum number of participants per module: a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 participants are admitted per training course.

  • Regular attendance at beginner Pilates Coresprit classes (at least once a week) is recommended during the training cycle . A personal practice program will be provided to candidates to guide their personal practice work.

 

Contents of Module 1:

Module 1 focuses on learning and perfecting the basic routines as well as the pedagogy of teaching beginner classes . The following topics will be covered:

 

  • Study of 5 beginner level exercises , their modifications and adaptations, cut out and analyzed to understand the purpose of the exercise, the muscular activations, the muscular actions and the progress of the exercise.

 

  • Effective communication in teaching Pilates. Verbal techniques, formulas, images, use of voice and gesture.
     

  • Construction and structure of the beginner course . Organization of exercises

  • the exercises to be performed and their correct sequences;

  • demonstration technique of an exercise. Separate execution or in  parallel;

  • the level of difficulty of execution and the muscular load of the exercises according to the level of the pupils ;

  •   modifications and adaptations to reduce, increase or target the intensity or difficulty of an exercise;
     

  • Correction methods in the beginner course:

- The art of observation;

- verbal or tactile corrections;

- collective corrections vs. individual fixes.

Program of the training days:
  • Saturday 6pm-9pm
    - 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. : practice workshop
    - 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. : study of the educational sheets for the exercises
     

  • Sunday 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
    - 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. : practice workshop
    - 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. : study of the educational sheets for the exercises
    - 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. : theoretical study workshops, teaching practice with role-playing.

 

Assessment exam

For candidates who wish to obtain a certification of teaching aptitude, an evaluation examination, consisting of a guided practice of beginner exercises and a teaching practice with a situational scenario will take place on a date to be established.

Place of training

The training will take place at the Center Anjaliom, 144 Bd de la Villette, Paris 75019.

 

All the necessary practice material during the training weekends is available from the Centre.
